As much as I like Gossip Girl, I love Skins. Have loved it for some time now. Unfortunately, the YouTube videos of the show are usually broken into pieces with parts missing, so you're not able to figure what's happened at the end of an episode. I guess that iTunes' way of making sure you buy it from them. And it's well worth it.
The show is getting ready to film it's fourth season in the UK, and word on the street is that MTV is working with the creators of the UK version to create a US version set in Baltimore.
I'm really wary when I hear US version. Skins in the UK features lots of sex, underage drinking, drug usage and all sorts of thing that would get the religious in this country in a lather. But we all know that teenagers do this stuff, and it's what makes the show so real. In addition to all the vice, the show is often moving in its reality. I fear that it'll be watered down and lose it's relevance.
In order to be true to the original series, it would need to be on a cable network where cursing and nudity is not problematic. Whichever network makes that happen has an instant hit on their hands.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, here's part of the first episode of Season 1.
